Supporting our community
and the people who call it home

Charitable giving can mean more than just donating one’s money, but devoting your time and energy, as well. Over the years, members of our team have given of themselves to do their part in giving back to the community. Some of the latest causes we support include:

Cystic Fibrosis
Steve Lee has chaired the Great Strides National Walk Event, “taking steps to cure cystic fibrosis.” Amanda Piper has served as a team leader of one of Steve’s teams on multiple occasions. Rick Wagener and many others in our office participate in this important event each year

First Tee
This is a World Golf Foundation initiative dedicated to the creation of new facilities and access to golf, which places a special emphasis on kids who otherwise may not have an opportunity to experience the game. It provides educational programs to young people in order to build character and instill life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Rick Wagener has served on the board for years, and members of the office regularly participate in First Tee events.

Leadership Howard County
This organization provides innovative programs designed to empower and connect community leaders and engage them in the critical issues facing Howard County and our region. Wagener-Lee members include:
Rick Wagener member of Leadership Premier, class of 2010.
Michael Shipley member of Leadership Premier, class of 2013.
Jeff Smith member of Leadership Premier, class of 2016.
Amanda Piper member of Leadership Premier, Class of 2018 and Leadership Essential, class of 2011.

The Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, or FBLA-PBL, the largest student-run business-related organization in America, is a non-profit career and technical organization that helps students transition to the business world. Rick Wagener, Steve Lee and Amanda Piper all serve as members of the professional division and serve on the board of region 9.
