Strength in numbers

November 2016

  • Team Wagener-Lee participated in National Sandwich Day on November 3rd. We enjoyed time together and were able to support Feeding America food banks.

Also, if you are wondering what Rick Wagener has been up to on his trip, take a look at this video. https://www.facebook.com/WagenerLee/videos/1257210964302386/

October 2016

  • Although it was cut short by Hurricane Matthew, Amanda attended the Raymond James Women's Symposium. 22 years ago, a group of Raymond James women came together to share insights, nuture connections and celebrate successes. That first meeting has now evolved into an event unmatched in our industry and grown to the 950-women strong Raymond James Network for Women Advisors.

September 2016

  • In keeping with the back-to-school season, Joan Marshall on our team has begun the course work required for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.
  • Every year August is designated as RJ Cares Month. Throughout Raymond James and their affiliates, employees and their families participate in events that give back to the community and benefits those in need. Here at Wagener-Lee, our event takes place a bit earlier when the Central Maryland summer is a little milder if not drier. On a Friday evening in June we sponsored the Nightlife Block Party on the Square. A sudden cloudburst along with a little thunder and lightning did not dampen the spirits about 150 folks who gathered at the Turf Valley Towne Square to support the roughly 30,000 people in the United States living with Cystic Fibrosis and to raise funds to continue the lifesaving efforts of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It is with humble and grateful hearts that we share the news that our little Block Party raised over $21,000 to help make CF stand for Cure Found. We thank everyone for supporting us as we support CFF, a cause that is near and dear to us. The Howard County Great Strides webpage will stay up until the end of the year to continue accepting donations.

July 2016

  • Well, we all got wet…some of us got a little wet and some of us got soaked…but last Friday evening the Block Party on the Square Nightlife rocked the Square as planned. Bolstered by a rainbow and clearing skies, about 150 of our friends gathered at the Turf Valley Towne Square to support the roughly 30,000 people in the United States living with Cystic Fibrosis and to raise funds to continue the lifesaving efforts of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It is with humble and grateful hearts that we share the news that our little Block Party raised over $20,000 to help make CF stand for Cure Found. We had great food supplied by Harris Teeters, Xitomate, Grille 620 and Facci. There were liquid libations served up by Sugar Rim Bar and a special thank you to Petite Cellars for going beyond the call of duty to keep the cold food cold and everyone’s whistle wet. The venue was perfect for this event. We thank everyone for supporting us as we support CFF, a cause that is near and dear to us. The CF event webpage will stay up a while longer to continue accepting donations. Well, friends, if you were able to join us, it was great to see you and spend some time not talking shop. If you couldn’t get there, we missed you and hope to see you soon. Again, we thank you.

May 2016

  • Several of our team members attended the Raymond James National Conference for Professional Development in Nashville from April 25 - 28. The annual conference was loaded with topics such as technology, portfolio management, regulation, risk management for clients, estate and tax issues and a new topic on the Department of Labor’s new Fiduciary Rule. Some of the new services that we are implementing for our clients include: Electronic Signatures, Outside Account Aggregation and our new online Vault. Electronic Signature or eSignature, a secure and efficient electronic signing method, will allow you to sign on your IPad or smartphone saving you the need to wait for paper forms to arrive the mail. Outside Account Aggregation offers you a comprehensive view of your finances from a single location for example; other savings accounts, 401K accounts, mutual funds, etc. downloaded each day into your RJ statement. The Vault will allow you to scan and store documents online so you can have virtual access to your important papers such as Wills, Power of Attorney, tax returns etc. and you can upload photographs of valuables. Contact us for more information!

  • Did you know Washington’s Birthday was first declared a federal holiday by an 1879 act of Congress. The Monday Holiday Law, enacted in 1968, shifted the date of the commemoration of Washington’s Birthday from February 22 to the third Monday in February, but neither that law nor any subsequent law changed the name of the holiday from Washington’s Birthday to President’s Day.
